The UP Comfort Center is an emergency overnight shelter that can house up to 34 people per night, providing a clean place to sleep, laundry services, hot showers, and a hot meal.
All services are provided free of charge. The center is currently operated by the Addiction Center of Broome County.
Starting July 1, UPC will become the administrator of the UP Comfort Center. In response to the ongoing need for emergency accommodation in our community, UPC intends to expand operations of the center to be open 7 nights a week. We are seeking a qualified nonprofit or public agency to take over operations at the UP Comfort Center for a 3-month pilot period from July 1 through September 30, 2026.
