The United Presbyterian Church of Binghamton is in search of a Church Accompanist!
United Presbyterian is located in the heart of downtown Binghamton. We are a caring congregation that embraces social justice. Our worship has a relaxed feel and features a variety of musical styles.
The accompanist position is part-time, averaging 10 hours per week, including 4 in-person hours per week (1.5 hours on Wednesday for choir rehearsal and 2.5 hours on Sunday morning for warm up and worship), with the other hours as personal practice time. A successful candidate must be proficient at the piano in a variety of musical styles, able to sight-read hymns, and have the capability to accompany varied styles of choral music following a director. Proficiency on the organ is preferred, but a willingness to work towards proficiency is acceptable. The salary for this position is $12,000-$15,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
